RICHARD SMITH ADI DipDi
About Me
Hi, my name is Richard. I passed my Driving Test when I was 17 and since then I have driven many different types of vehicles: Bikes, Cars, Taxis, Vans, Buses, HGVs and even a Police Car. I have driven many hundreds of thousands of miles, both in the UK and in Europe.
I was previously employed as a Transport Manager with a large, International Healthcare Company. As part of the job, I used to teach drivers with a basic Car Licence to upgrade to an HGV Licence.
For the last 20 years, I have been a Driving Instructor, teaching new drivers to PASS the Driving Test and obtain their first Driving Licence. Even after all these years, it is still a tremendous thrill to see a new driver PASS their Driving Test.
About 10 years ago, I took further training and, in June 2016, I qualified as an ORDIT Instructor. ORDIT is the Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers.
So, in addition to helping learners to pass their Driving Test, I help people train and qualify as Driving Instructors. (Training the Trainers.) New Driving Instructors need to Pass 3 Qualifying Exams, and I am happy to have helped many embark on a new career.
My Qualifications:-
My goal is to make every lesson as enjoyable and as productive as possible; teaching you to Drive to a High Standard and PASS your Driving Test. The Client Centred Learning approach helps me to do this more effectively. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner, as I firmly believe in making Pupils feel at ease during each lesson.
At present, I work Part-Time (a few days each week). I am no longer on the LDC Franchise, however, I still use the LDC Client Centred Learning teaching method.
